I use CBT, TFCBT, DBT, Nurtured Heart, Nurturing Parenting, Mindfulness, Seeking Safety, and HRT with CBIT to treat: PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ODD, Tourette syndrome, Asperger's syndrome, autism, grief, family conflict, divorce, self-harming, sexual/physical/emotional abuse, life transitions, parenting, and women's issues.

I encourage you to take the next step in scheduling an appointment with me to see if we would be a good match in working towards your emotional goals.

My preferred approach for treating depression is a blend of emotion regulation and mindfulness skills building, identifying maladaptive self-beliefs, parts work, and trauma processing. I find this method particularly effective because it allows me to tailor treatment to suit the unique needs and circumstances of each client. This comprehensive strategy supports a holistic healing journey, encompassing not just the cognitive aspects of depression but also its emotional, somatic, and relational dimensions. Through integrative therapy, clients experience significant improvement in their depressive symptoms and overall well-being, leading to a more fulfilling life.
I teach the following tools in depression counseling: mindfulness, grounding, opposite action, effective goal-setting, finding mastery and fulfillment in one's daily routine, reshaping negative self-beliefs and expectations, strengthening positive resources, and creating a life worth living within one's circle of control.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in depression counseling when they start to find fulfillment in their life again and when they start experiencing an increase in positive emotions.
Clients can supplement their time in depression counseling by doing things that bring them (or used to bring them) joy and engaging in support resources.
To prepare for your first depression counseling session, just come in with an open mind, curiosity, and a desire to learn and heal.
