About
I take a thoughtful, individualized approach to care, focusing less on labels and more on helping my patients improve their symptoms and overall quality of life.
I am a psychiatric provider with a background in inpatient and community mental health care. I earned my BSN from Central Connecticut State University and my master's degree from the University of Saint Joseph. Since 2020, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan, including those with dual diagnoses. I support clients seeking relief from symptoms and meaningful improvement in their overall quality of life.
I take a client-centered and individualized approach, understanding that each person's needs are unique. I prioritize listening, collaboration, and thoughtful treatment planning, working with clients to find practical, realistic strategies that support long-term symptom improvement and overall well-being.
I strive to create a supportive, trusting environment where you feel heard and understood. My goal is to help you build a lasting foundation for your mental health. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

As someone who grew up in the field of mental health, I have come to appreciate the therapeutic value of allowing others to express themselves without reservation as well as affording them the respect and dignity they duly deserve.
My name is Elliott Brown, and I am a licensed professional counselor with over 24 years of experience. I enjoy working with adults and children who have a host of issues to unpack: anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce, relationship troubles, work headaches, grieving, and getting older, to name a few. When explaining the process of therapy to clients, I often use the "puzzle analogy": a) you dump the pieces out on the table, b) I help you look for the edges and other patterns, and c) you develop a clearer picture about how the rest of the puzzle needs to be solved.
My approach aims to provide you with a sense of relief in expressing often unpleasant thoughts and feelings, while also helping you recognize the themes embedded within these expressions. In doing so, you may develop a greater awareness of the world around you and, as a consequence, become more resilient in the face of adversity.
Please let me know how I can be of help to you. Life's problems aren't something we have to tackle alone. Therapy doesn't have to look a certain way; sessions can be a time to unwind and talk about whatever you see fit. Above all, I hope that you will leave therapy a more insightful and happier person.

I am a clinically experienced Nurse Practitioner with Compassion, Empathy, and Attentive listening Skills in treating and managing clients with various mental illnesses. I understand how mental illness affects clients and will use a holistic therapeutic approach to deliver quality care.
My name is Judith Uwazuruonye, DNP, APN, PMHNP-BC. I bring 22 years of RN experience, including four years as a psychiatric charge nurse and three years as a PMHNP-BC. I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism, eating disorders, conduct and oppositional defiant disorders, and adjustment disorders across the lifespan. I have a particular interest in adolescent care — teens navigating identity, stress, anger, and confusion need a provider who understands that stage of life. I provide culturally competent, patient-centered care across inpatient, outpatient, and correctional settings.
I use a holistic therapeutic approach that combines compassionate listening, psychoeducation, medication management, and individualized care plans. I am empathetic, a good listener, and committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment where clients feel supported. My goal is to help each client make meaningful progress toward better mental health.

My approach is collaborative, supportive, and patient-centered so my main goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and empowered.
I'm a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with experience in both medical and mental health care, including HIV care. I take a holistic, patient-centered approach and work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and stress. I also support individuals navigating life transitions, chronic conditions, and identity-related challenges, and strive to create an inclusive, supportive environment for all.
I focus on creating a "brave space" where you feel safe, respected, and empowered to share openly. Together, we'll identify your goals and begin developing a personalized plan that supports your mental and emotional well-being. My goal is that you leave your session feeling heard, supported, and confident in the direction we're taking together.
You don't have to have everything figured out before getting support. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you feel heard, and work with you to create a plan that feels right for you. When you're ready, I'd be honored to work with you.

EFT can be used in a variety of settings, although it is most commonly used for couples. EFT helps both partners to understand and reshape the emotional responses and interactions that occur in different situations in their relationship. Overall, this couples-oriented therapy aims to improve satisfaction and strengthen emotional bonds for partners, married or not.
EFT helps couples identify and address patterns of interaction that contribute to conflict and disconnection. It focuses on fostering secure attachment bonds by promoting emotional responsiveness, validation, and empathy within the relationship.
EFT is effective in treating a wide range of relationship issues, including communication difficulties, unresolved conflicts, infidelity, intimacy issues, and emotional distance.
The duration of EFT therapy varies depending on the specific needs and goals of the couple. Some couples may experience significant improvements in a few sessions, while others may require more extensive treatment.
EFT is generally suitable for most couples, regardless of sexual orientation, cultural background, or relationship stage. However, it may not be appropriate for couples experiencing severe individual mental health issues or those unwilling to engage in therapy together.
EFT is a type of therapy best suited for couples who are willing to attend sessions together to understand and empathize with their differing viewpoints. If you and/or your partner aren’t open to attending sessions together, individual therapy may still offer help for your respective needs.
Thriveworks offers a range of services, in addition to emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), each designed to meet specific needs. Our goal is to provide the right kind of support for every challenge you may face.
