About
I understand how deeply life’s hardest moments can affect us. I also know that with support and resilience, it’s possible to move through these challenges and come out stronger.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 11 years of experience working in integrated medical and behavioral health services, nonprofit organizations, and private practice. I work with adults navigating depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, and major life transitions. I strive to offer a compassionate, collaborative space where you can express your emotions, feel heard, and work toward your goals.
I hold a master’s degree in counseling from Southern Nazarene University. My therapeutic approach incorporates acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered techniques, and a solution-focused style to support transparency, insight, progress, and healing.
Life can feel overwhelming, and taking the first step toward support matters. I provide an open, safe space to work through challenges without fear of judgment. When you are ready, I would be honored to help you move toward healing and the changes you want to make in your life.

As a Black queer woman with lived experience on both sides of the therapy room, I bring both professional expertise and personal understanding to the healing process, believing that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and accepted without judgment.
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas, as well as a Certified Sex Therapist and Certified Life Coach. For 17 years, I've worked with adults, primarily women, navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and sexual concerns. I provide an affirming, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore who they are, strengthen their relationships, and create lives that feel more authentic and fulfilling.
Therapy isn't about fixing who you are. It's about understanding what shaped you, identifying what no longer serves you, and building the skills to move forward with greater confidence and intention. I integrate EMDR, ACT, attachment-focused, psychodynamic, and somatic approaches to support meaningful, lasting change.
You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You just have to believe that things can be different. If you're ready to better understand yourself, heal from what's been holding you back, and build a life that feels more aligned with who you are, I'd be honored to support you on that journey.

My go-to-approach for helping people in cognitive behavioral therapy is to first understand the way our thinking controls our feelings and behaviors. I find the best benefit in developing skills to manage the negative thoughts because the client learns tools that they can use in their everyday life.
Education on cognitive distortions, recognizing triggers, automatic thoughts, recognizing that thoughts are not facts and developing coping skills to to use in life.
I know a client is making progress when they are able to recognize the negative thoughts, they can begin to view themselves differently and see hope that things can be different.
Clients can supplement their time in cognitive behavioral therapy by completing worksheets provided by therapist and practice the things they are using. They can also celebrate every small win they have.
To begin to prepare for cognitive behavioral therapy an individual can notice some of the negative thoughts or messages they give themselves so they can express them in their session.
At Thriveworks, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a widely recognized and evidence-based form of psychotherapy or talk therapy. It focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors that can contribute to various mental health issues or challenges that people are struggling with.
Cognitive behavioral therapists specialize in Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and can help you to identify and comprehend your thought patterns, which often encompass automatic negative thoughts, cognitive distortions, and self-defeating beliefs. Once these negative thought patterns are pinpointed, cognitive behavioral therapists aim to challenge and replace them with the objective of fostering more constructive and logical thinking. In addition, these therapists place significant emphasis on implementing positive behavioral changes based on the newly established, healthier thought patterns.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is particularly effective for addressing conditions like anxiety disorders, depression, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. It focuses on identifying and modifying negative thought patterns and behaviors, making it well-suited for issues related to distorted thinking and emotional regulation.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
The success rate of CBT varies depending on the intentions of the client and their condition(s).
The selection between cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is based on an individual’s unique needs and challenges. CBT is commonly chosen for addressing conditions such as anxiety and depression, whereas DBT is especially beneficial for individuals dealing with borderline personality disorder, emotional regulation issues, and difficulties in interpersonal relationships.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with our Thriveworks therapists in McKinney, TX is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
