About
My own life experiences as well as my experience working in hospitals has helped me to have tremendous variety with many different age groups and populations, and I will be your personal coach to help you obtain your goals.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have spent several years in acute and rehab hospital settings, as well as a therapy practice. I have experience with all age groups, individuals, couples, and families. I have learned each of us has our own unique story and sometimes there are challenges we do not expect, or we realize we want to take the next chapter in a different direction. I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, clarity and confidence.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and strengths based. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychoeducation are some of the therapy approaches we may use, depending upon individual needs.
Whether you are coping with anxiety, adjusting to a life change such as divorce or a health condition, or working through trauma or grief, I am here to help you learn new coping skills and strengthen your resilience. Healing begins in a safe and supportive environment, where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Let's get started!

Lee completed his Master's degree in Counseling at Milligan University. We found a love and affinity for existential therapy and the application of mindfulness to the therapeutic process.
Life can be challenging at times. The question is, what can we learn from these challenges? If we choose to, we can use the pain that life has to find a deeper sense of joy, and connecting us with the world around us. Schedule your first session with Lee today.

As one who has experienced personal trauma and loss, I have an authentic understanding of how we are impacted by painful life circumstances and how building new life skills can empower us once again.

I believe healing begins when you feel truly understood. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, or life transitions, you don’t have to face it alone. Together, we can explore what’s been holding you back and build new pathways toward peace, confidence, and authentic connection.

I believe therapy works best in space that feels comfortable, genuine, and judgment-free, where you can come as you are, say the thing you’re not sure you’re “supposed” to say, laugh when something is funny, cry when it hurts, and take a break when things feel like too much.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a Master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. I have over 10 years of experience in the social work field and enjoy working with people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief or loss, relationship challenges, and difficult life transitions. I especially value helping clients make sense of experiences that may have left them feeling stuck, overwhelmed, guarded, or disconnected from themselves.
I want us to work together rather than me simply telling you what you to do. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), existential therapy, and somatic practices.
My approach is warm and conversational, but I also like giving you practical tools and things you can actually use outside of our sessions. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, work through what’s been weighing on you, and feel a little more confident moving forward.

Anxiety therapy helps people better understand and manage their anxiety. Anxiety therapists at Thriveworks in Johnson City, TN can develop a treatment plan that will help you better manage your day-to-day anxiety or your anxiety disorder.
Anxiety therapy involves talking to a therapist about symptoms, potential causes, and more. Thriveworks Johnson City therapists will then work with you to determine where your anxiety might stem from and teach you effective coping mechanisms.
One of the best ways to deal with anxiety is to learn about your own anxiety: your symptoms, what triggers it, and what coping mechanisms have been effective in the past. When you learn what your anxiety is tied to, it can help you be mindful of what’s really happening as well as prevent and mitigate symptoms by processing and working through the issue in therapy. Other strategies that have been shown to help manage anxiety are meditation, challenging anxious thoughts, exercising, and journaling.
