After years in healthcare and a career change of my own, I understand that life doesn’t always come with a clear plan. I bring a practical, curious approach to therapy and believe you don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin.
I'm Rob Evans, and I work with teens and adults who are anxious, grieving, or figuring out what comes next. Health concerns often come into the picture. Stress, physical health, and mood are all connected, and all of them have a place in our work together. Before counseling, I was a respiratory therapist. I spent years working with people through illness, stress, and uncertainty. I later made a career change of my own, so I understand what it's like to step into something new without having all the answers. Sessions with me are practical and direct. You don't need a polished story to begin.
I use CBT most often because it gives us something concrete to work with: we look at the thoughts and habits that keep you stuck, and you leave each session with something to try before the next one. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas, supervised by Shaunté Collins, LPC-S, with an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas.
We can start wherever you are. If something has been weighing on you and you're ready to take a closer look, reach out and we'll see if we're a fit.

I've often told clients that being human is sometimes challenging. Let's work together to make your life easier with the support of someone who cares about you, listens, shares knowledge, and recognizes you as your own expert. I'm here for you.
I have worked with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, healthy boundary setting, retirement and aging, illness, career decisions, and life balance. I'm here to help you grow as a person and in your relationships. This includes preparing for marriage or navigating relationship changes. This is what I love to do, and I look forward to meeting you on your journey. I experience much joy in this work and often observe joy in my clients who find relief and live better lives.
As we identify patterns in your life, we explore how they began and what changes support healthier actions. This might involve early experiences, stressors, situations beyond your control, and ways you can assert yourself more effectively.
Here's the bottom line: change is uncomfortable, and that's OK. The work to become healthier, happier, and more self-aware is worth it. We might share a few laughs along the way. It's good work we'll do together. You're worth it!

As a woman of color who has experienced trauma, I deeply understand how life can sometimes hand you situations that feel overwhelming and hard to navigate, and I will walk this journey with you.
I am a licensed professional counselor associate (LPCA) with 7 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through emotional and relational challenges. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, communication difficulties, eating disorders, and life stressors. I am passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths, gain new perspectives, and feel more empowered in their daily lives.
I earned my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Abilene Christian University. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and individualized, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing to help clients build practical tools for lasting change.
I understand that reaching out for support can be a vulnerable and overwhelming experience. I create a safe, compassionate space where you feel respected and heard. Together, we’ll identify root concerns, strengthen coping skills, and work toward meaningful growth. When you’re ready, I invite you to schedule a session and begin your journey forward.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

Teen counseling helps young individuals better understand and manage the challenges that affect their mental health. Common challenges amongst teens include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and problematic relationships with food.
Teen counseling works by using multiple techniques, tailored to fit the teen’s unique needs — based on their age group, their challenges, and the severity of their challenges. It might involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, art therapy, and others for varying ages. In any case, Thriveworks teen therapists in Arlington have the expertise and experience to help young individuals at their level.
Signs that teens might need Teen counseling can be very subjective, as they are experiencing many changes and can have intense reactions to them. As parents, you know your child best and are best equipped to judge whether certain reactions are standard behaviors for your teen or whether they might be hinting at a larger problem. Even so, there are a few common signs and events that often point to a need for therapy, such as experiencing divorce or loss, grief, consistent low moods, teens distancing themselves and becoming isolated, losing interest in hobbies, excessive anger or irritability, substance use issues, and suicidal ideation, among others.
Teen counseling providers at Thriveworks in Arlington, TX offer both in person and online therapy by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The length of teen counseling depends on your teen’s needs as well as the goals that you and their therapist might have for them. Generally, teen counseling sessions will last for several months.
